getlearning.net has developed a unique e-skills course which introduces on-line learning, helps to make you familiar with the e-learning environment and enables you to get the most out of your e-learning experience.
We highly recommend the e-skills course as the ideal starting point for your e-learning journey. The course is FREE on the getlearning.net site when you register. The e-skills course has been developed by getlearning.net as an introduction to e-learning and is designed to provide you with the skills to become an e-learner.
The course consists of approximately 20 hours of learning. You will learn how to send e-mails, how to search the Internet, how to use bulletin boards and chat rooms. You will also learn about the history of the Internet and how it works - how people learn using web based technologies. The e-skills course is highly interactive with quizzes, animations, audio, video clips and tutor tips bringing learning to life on every screen.

Following the introduction, you will learn how to use the internet in your study, leisure and work. The third topic looks at the development of e-learning and how it differs from face-to-face training. The fourth topic introduces you to Virtual Learning Environments (VLE’s) and shows you how to get the most out of Learnwise, the getlearning.net Virtual Learning Environment that you will be studying in.
Once you have completed the course you will be offered the chance of taking a basic qualification in Internet Skills.
